A profit-for-purpose club group needed its group site and three venue sites to work as one family, while each club kept its own personality.

Holman Barnes Group is a member-owned group in Sydney's Inner West, home to Wests Ashfield, Markets Club and Croydon Sports Club, with interests in the Wests Tigers, Western Suburbs Magpies, APIA Leichhardt and the Central Coast Mariners. It needed a group website that explains its portfolio and community investment, and venue websites that members actually use week to week, all feeling like one organisation.

Our approach
How we
did it
We designed the group site around the story Holman Barnes Group wanted to tell: a diverse portfolio with one shared purpose, community investment, sporting ventures and the venues themselves, with the group's impact presented clearly.
The group site and the three club sites are built on one shared WordPress theme and design system. They share the portfolio navigation, membership pathways and core components, so members can move between venues easily and the team works the same way on every site, while each club keeps its own look, menus, events and opening hours.
The outcome
Holman Barnes Group now presents as one connected family online, with a group site that tells its story and venue sites built for members, built on a single design system that is easier to run.
